I don't ever feel the need to explain myself...
Either you get me or you don't.
Explanations are too time consuming and troublesome.
Maybe that's why I'm often misunderstood.
Normally, I wouldn't bother clarifying information
but today the need is too strong,
especially when it involves the the husband.
So, let me clear up a few misconceptions you may have.
I have absolutely no interest in traveling.
None. It's just not my thing. I'm far too practical.
Yes, the sights are lovely and the food is great.
I know...but I'm fine just hearing about everyone's adventure
or reading about it on the back of a postcard.
I prefer the solitude of my books. That's just who I am.
Tommy is a traveler. He loves to snowboard.
He loves to visit various casinos. He loves grand adventures.
He goes often. That is who he is.
We are very different but very alike. That's how we work.
Best friends for more than a decade,
Tommy and I know the importance of a compromise.
Why should he have to suffer because I don't care to travel?
So, the next time you decide to make an off
comment to a large group of people about
Tommy leaving Meme at home again...
know that I will not tolerate it or refrain from speaking my mind.
You can say anything you want about me
but don't ever taint the husbands name ever...
Especially since you have no idea how our marriage works.

The irony is not lost on me. You're such a social butterfly yet you love being alone. Tommy rarely speaks but he likes to be surrounded by people. I guess that's why you guys work well together. Don't let it bother you.
Those that don't know you may think you are being a little touchy. However, it must be bothering you a lot for you to actually say something. You're upset that Tommy is coming off looking like the bad guy when it's you who chooses to stay back. Meme, anyone who knows you and Tommy will know the dynamics of your relationship. Don't worry about it. Tommy is a big boy.
I think any fella who would pose with a toy bunny in the background and smile like that over a book, should be allowed to go on as many trips as he wants, with or without the wife.
