And here I thought the proof is in the pudding :P

More than 10 years late and I still don't get what the white ppl meant by that...why pudding? Will any kind of pudding do? Inquiring minds want to know!

Funny that you should mention that particular idiom. My students were learning about it just recently. They had clarified the meaning behind that saying. Apparently, you can assume the taste of pudding but in order to know if it is good...you must try it..therefore, the proof is in the pudding itself.
